Theft of Motor Vehicle from Goldring way.

Dear Resident

Between 26/09/2025 19:00 to 27/09/2025 09:30 a theft of a vehicle occurred on Casson Court, Goldring Way,

The victim called to report that his vehicle has been stolen by keyless means between the material times.

The victim only has one set of keys for the car but he still has these in his possession, they were kept in a faraday pouch. Nothing left behind by offenders, no forensic considerations. No tracker on the vehicle as far as victim knows.

Tips to prevent vehicle crime:

Ensure you lock doors and shut windows/sunroof when leaving your vehicle unattended.

Always remove keys from the ignition when you are not with the vehicle

When parking, remember to set your immobiliser or alarm or use an approved steering lock or gear lever clamp.

Never leave valuables in your vehicle – not even in the glove box or boot – and keep all possessions out of sight – even coats, sunglasses and carrier bags.

Be aware of your keys. Don’t leave them visible on a windowsill or near to your front door, where they could be “hooked” through the letterbox or a keyless signal can be received by relay devices.

If you have a keyless entry car use a signal blocking bag and consider using additional trackers, steering wheel locks or ghost immobilisers.

Store car ownership documents at home, not in your car.
